Most Windows POS machine manufacturers use high-durability and stable screens, so an unresponsive touch screen is uncommon. However, if we encounter the issue, don’t worry. UiPOS suggests checking the following points to quickly identify the cause and restore normal operation as soon as possible:
1. Check whether there are high-power interference appliances around the Windows POS machine, and whether there is interference from static electricity, high and low temperatures, etc. We can reposition the Windows POS machine and then start checking whether the touch screen is unresponsive.
2. Sometimes, an unresponsive touch screen is not due to the screen itself but rather an issue with the power supply or connections. Ensure the power adapter is properly connected and check that the USB cable for the touch screen is securely attached.
3. If the touch screen is unresponsive in certain areas or the touch input is misaligned, it may be due to incorrect calibration. Go to the system settings, locate the “Touch Screen Calibration” option, and follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate.
4. Ensure the touch screen driver is installed and functioning correctly. Open Device Manager, look for “HID-compliant touch screen” under Human Interface Devices or “Touch Panel”. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the device, the driver may be faulty. If necessary, reinstall the touch screen driver.
